Pros
R&D people are intelligent, enjoyable to work with. Good benefits. Perks such as matching contributions to charities of your choice.
Cons
Enormous company where the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Execs don't seem very interested in what the R&D teams are up to. Primary company focus is consumer electronics and printing, yet HP was late to the game on 3-D printing and seems to have totally missed the boat on consumer VR. This is telling of the lack of insight from those who should be directing research.
