Pros

Good Benefits and vacation days.

Cons

Poor management skills., does not give opportunity for existing staff members to promote within. With the last job that I was in, there was no support from the SVP. 2 senior staff members left and was not replace until 5 months later, meanwhile the work that they were doing, I have to look after. Was not even offer acting pay.

Pros

HSBC is probably the most culturally diverse international banks in the US. Strong international connection. Plenty of internal transfer or job rotation opportunities to broaden your skill set and exposure. Strong focus on values at the high level.

Cons

Deep hierarchy and silo greatly minimizes the effectiveness of the organization. Does not encourage knowledge sharing, making silo effect worse. Lack of consistent business strategy. Too big and too complicated to make it effective.
