Pros

Working on the corporate side as a Recruiter, I had a pretty stable position, because the turnover rate in retail banking was so high.

Cons

HSBC didn't really value employees and they made it tougher and tougher each year for the retail banking staff to earn bonuses.

Pros

Brand name recognition, location, fast-paced environment (many projects to work on)

Cons

Management cares little about their staff, no willingness to retain talent within the company. Very little internal mobility. Recently on a downsizing trend. A lot of politics which is to be expected in a bank, but can refrain from moving, progressing both as an individual within the company and as a company on the whole.
