Pros

The engineering teams have some of the smartest and motivated people you’ll work with that truly believe in making the internet better. There are open lines of communication, and ideas can be openly discussed and debated. Flexible working conditions are possible and supported.

Cons

New leadership seems unreceptive to adopting the company culture, and many well-regarded employees are leaving or being pushed out. People wanting to grow their careers into a different team are stopped. Leadership has been less transparent about future direction, and haven’t staffed up to support the engineering teams. Culture took a major hit following the acquisition.

Thank you for the feedback and for taking the time to enumerate some of the ways we can be doing better. While change is inevitable during shifts in ownership we need to maintain the core values of what brought us together as a team in the first place. Please know that we would welcome the opportunity to listen to your feedback should you want to provide it, if so please contact a member of people Ops or of the executive team.

Pros

The people working here are some of the brightest but unfortunately they may all start to leave

Cons

For the most part, leadership is awful. Bless the female VP in leadership - can't fathom half the things she has to deal with Lots of inequity in the workplace. Pay, equity for selective people, leveling, and promotions just to name a few CEO is in denial of the damages post acquisition caused

Thank you for this review although it made for a tough read. We’ve certainly had a year of great change. And, you’re right that this is exactly the kind of year when listening to our talented and committed team is EVEN MORE important. And so we’re using the team’s feedback from the recent employee survey to guide our upcoming investment priorities for building a better employee experience. I also hope you’re already feeling some positive changes. Warm regards, Alexa Raad, Chief People, Purpose and Policy Officer

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Although it is not always easy to hear tough words, we are grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn and improve. We are fortunate in that we are growing, but that also presents challenges in terms of scaling the company effectively and compassionately. It also means we HAVE to do a better job of attracting a diverse pool of talented humans and enrich, develop and retain them. We have made a number of changes since you left, invested in training as well as new processes and tools with an earnest desire to do and be better. - People Ops Team
