Pros

Their health insurance is decent.

Cons

Required to work very late nights and some weekends on a regular basis. No real work/life balance. Meetings overload. 6am meetings to present line. Huge turnover with massive layoffs regularly. Known, for over a decade, as one of the worst fashion companies to work for. (and G-III) Poor compensation for the workload. I have over 20 years experience as a designer in fashion in NYC and this company lives up to its horrible reputation.

Pros

Amazing opportunity to grow personally with lots of tasks and responsibilities, given that the international side of the business is expanding at a very rapid rate. Great work life balance. Management always open to talk to about new ideas - entrepreneurial spirit. If you want to learn everything about the industry from the moment a clothing item gets designed to the moment it reaches the customer, this is the perfect place to be. You will learn everything. Design, sourcing, marketing, sales, operations etc. Exposed to all areas of the business. If you are really passionate about the brands that the company represents and have some international experience, this is the place to be.

Cons

The pay isn't great and the benefits could be better, but given the fashion industry standards, it's not that bad.

Pros

My coworkers were some of the best. Supportive and helpful. Also, super fun and creative! I also really enjoyed being able to work Kids Rock. Being a small female, it certainly did not hurt that I could get some great samples from time to time. This was a challenging job (the work, pushback from management and mentally taxing), but it did prepare me in feeling confident to take on more responsibility.

Cons

If you’re an EA, you should intend to be there for quite some time. Upper management is not particularly fond of letting you branch out until many, many due are paid, but rightfully so. Compensation is LOW! Do not be afraid to prove your worth and ask for what you deserve. Upon leaving, I learned just how under paid I was. Ultimately, it was an EA position at a fashion group. What you see is what you get, but don’t be afraid to ask to take on more!
