Pros

- Interesting place to work if you don't have any previous experience working in large and serious engineering projects - Playground to experiment with many new technologies, as the company isn't focus on producing systems that have quality/performance/resilience - The less you know, the more you will learn here

Cons

- Dull engineering job - Low quality code/architecture - Technical debt has gone through the roof - Lack of experience in the company using this kind of technologies, building large systems - Non-technical CTO that only knows how to push in the wrong direction - Non-reproducible environments - No testing - No code ownership - Lack of freedom within teams to work in the most efficient manner - Technical discussion centered around buzzwords instead of sounds ideas - Weak communication within teams - Working with big egos without any relevance in this industry - No real BigData, just ridiculous amounts of data - It's really costly and slow to develop any new feature in the new platform

Pros

- Adequate concept for product - Salaries above average - Some nice people who are reasonably intelligent - Some tech buzzwords to add to your CV

Cons

- Poor engineering culture - lack of code ownership, insufficient/almost non-existent testing, disregard of frameworks and technical debt to the roof - Lack of company culture, extreme disorganisaton, as a result staff demotivation is at an all time high - Arrogant and inexperienced personnel employed in all areas of the business, particularly but not exclusively in the middle management and engineering teams - A non-technical CTO is employed, who has no respect for the engineers unless you are one of his "chosen ones" - and very few are. Their baby, Hailo 2.0, will be in fact a case study... on how not to do things! - Continuous mind games being played, critics are either ignored, trolled or bullied and slowly pushed out - Significantly smaller than public perception, traffic is the wrong word to use, the impression given that you will deal with a vast amount of data is completely false.

Pros

Amazing, intelligent people collaborating in all the right ways to get things done. Bags of passion and enthusiasm can be felt around the office, everyday. Design and technology make the world a better place and at Hailo Designers and Engineers work hand in hand to create awesome products. We also have a beautiful office in one of London’s top notch locations, which means lots of great choices for food and coffee. The office itself is creative and fun with a much loved games room where cocktails are served Friday evenings.

Cons

Yup, can't think of any.
