Pros

Commission, benefits (401 k, insurance) pay, SOME people that work within HairClub, clients, helping people get their confidence back.

Cons

Under staffed, treat managers poorly and put more work on them without giving raises. Managers were required to work during COVID and only received a gift card. Unfair scheduling and they pick favorites for promotions and bonuses. Hair quality SUCKS and they are still ignoring the fact there is a hair and factory issue and still increasing prices. They put all the responsibility on managers to resolve and you get NO HELP FROM UPPER MANAGEMENT. Staff that has been there for a while get treated unfairly.

Pros

Client interaction is very rewarding.

Cons

There is no culture. No associate appreciation. We've gone years without a raise but they will hire a new person at or above your current salary. We get sarcastic remarks from the CEO when we ask about raises. Lots of veteran employees were laid off after Covid only for them to create "new" positions later, hiring people to do the same job for less.

Absolutely no sarcasm when it comes to raises. Your performance determines your pay. Hoping you find a company that meets your standards in the future.

Mismanaged Talent

Pros

There’s a clientele waiting on you when you’re first hired. There is room for advancement if the manager likes you. You’ll create long lasting friendships and relationships with clients because it’s is a very specialized service.

Cons

Every corporation has politics and if you aren’t on the right side of the “management cool kids” there’s is always a problem. Whether is non accurately reported hours worked or commissions, the wrong manager will have you chasing them down to correct an error and fix your wage. There’s a lot of “it’s not my department let me give you the number to HR” and a lot less, let’s handle this right away. They often employ people who have nothing to do with the industry with hopes that they will integrate and do what is assigned but if they don’t, the management shelf life is only about 2 years anyway so the turnover will get a new person in the slot without hesitation. The stylists aren’t treating like the wheels of the bus that keeps everything moving but instead like numbered sheep equipped with only the lessons they’ve taught. They want you to unlearn your skill and adapt to theirs whether it’s more effective than not, and if your way proves more effective protocols may be rewritten but you’ll never receive the credit for being part of the change or recognizing that your way worked better.
