      Pros

      Professional IT organization, good benefits, excellent work-life balance. Not much travel included and conveniently located in Southwest part of the City (Houston, Texas). BIG SAP shop.

      Cons

      IT organization is outsourced to off-shore partners so full-time employees do not have much scope for upward mobility. Senior management have formed good old boys club so most of the employees have been kept in their position for many years. Yearly performance review is just a HR formality.

      Pros

      Development is great challenging work diversity of work (very much dependent on department) great coworkers

      Cons

      Market is down Stressful environment Customization is a deep black hole - don't be fooled - Everyone who is there is trying to move to development Management has put a freeze on moving from one dept to another (aka customization to development) Career seems to stagnate after awhile No pay raise this past year No one got promoted either- A lot of people are leaving because they are over due for a promotion by a couple of years Impossible to get a 4 on PPR (scale 1-5)

      Great benefits and 401 K. The team I work with is excellent. Love the challenge that my work provides

      Cons

      The commute everyday to and from work is 1 hour 40 minutes each way. Me being a single father to far away for me.
