      Pros

      Solid pay & benefits for the region and industry - They paid a significant amount for my undergrad degree and will contribute significantly to my masters. They are currently paying for a certification I wanted. Compared to other places I have worked, vacation days & holidays are generous. I'm not a fan of sick time resetting every year - I miss when it accumulated in case you had a few healthy years followed by a health emergency. The company has standard 401k and insurance benefits. They have bonuses on the retail side (in the branches) and neat program to earn rewards, like gifts cards. Great management team - of course there are bad managers at every company, but I had not had any in the 10 years I have been with Hancock Whitney. Management genuinely listens to your feedback and implements your ideas. They have always worked with me on time off requests and my school schedule when I was in college. Career Advancement - I started on the very bottom as a teller and now I investigate fraud out of our big building in Gulfport, and I still see genuine opportunities to continue moving upwards. Management wants you to get promoted as it reflects good on them. As I mentioned under benefits, they will pay for a significant amount of college and all of a certification. The bank's clients - Met some wonderful people in the branches and was always a great feeling when I could help them get that loan they needed. These are the kind of people that bring the branch food and gifts during the holidays or just on a random Wednesday because they appreciate the bank employees. Was really surprised when it happened the first time, and I was always grateful when it happened again and again. Diversity & Charity - The bank has great social programs and routinely promotes diversity and charity events, such as scholarships, fundraisers for the local aquarium, volunteering with Habitat with Humanity, annual drive for United Way, and a bunch more too numerous to list. After hurricanes, they have grant programs and assistance for employees. Stability - Since it has been in the news lately due to SVB and Signature Bank, there is no worry about Hancock Whitney failing. The company has been around for a century, and they take a financially conservative approach to managing the company's funds. The company is not going anywhere.

      Cons

      Interdepartmental Conflict - Not all the time, but enough to be considered a con. My department works with a lot of other departments, and we rely on them responding to email and phone requests. It can be frustrating when the emails and phone calls are repeatedly ignored. A few departments are great at open communication, but too many are too concerned with their own goals rather than offering 5 Star Service to the bank's clients. The bank's clients - Yeah, I put this under Pros as well. Finance and money can be really stressful for certain people, and if things don't go their way, they will absolutely rip that teller/loan officer/fraud analyst a new one. I have been yelled at, cursed at, and threatened by clients/customers I was unable to help. It's like retail anywhere I guess - most clients/customers are fantastic, but a loud few are just miserable who are only happy when they make others miserable.
