There are not many responsibilities and there is a lot of down time. Hurry up and wait sort of thing. You can create your own position because there are no clear policies on the position requirements. It is a government required position so your work is reviewed but not deemed helpful to the organization. I was able to build my own focus and program to help the organization without it being a part of the actual operational risk label

Cons

Deadlines are short. Many times the information is made available the day before it needs to be presented so typically late nights weekends or canceled vacation time is required to meet the presentation deadline. Leadership is unclear on the direction of an enterprise risk program so you can not expect any guidance. You really need to understand Enterprise Risk and Operational risk and your coworkers to complete any assignments. There are times when waiting on responses that have days without any tasks other than the ones you create for yourself.
