Pros

Peer co-workers who are going through the same emotional abuse.

Cons

Two years ago, Hanscom was the most incredible place to work. David Sprauge was an incredible CEO and leader. HFCU was a family. HFCU was a place one would wake up and be excited about going to work. Unfortunately for the organization, Mr. Sprague retired. Peter Rice became CEO and almost instantly the culture shifted. He forced the remainder of the c-suite to retire simply because they couldn’t ethically condone what Peter was doing. Jim Flannagan, CIO, came on board and blew up the IT department - everything so many people worked so hard to build. He based everything off of his friends that he wanted to build up. There is not one single employee still working at HFCU that was there before Jim’s time. That should tell you how horrible things are. Employees are taking FMLA due to mental health crisis caused by the working environment. It’s a total disaster. Stay far away. With all of the lawsuits, HFCU probably won’t last much longer.

Pros

The majority of the people - the ones you actually work with every day - they're great. A lot of departments are either fully remote or hybrid.

Cons

I used to really like working here, but the culture has evaporated. Certain executives can recite the company values but don’t live a single one of them. The things I’ve seen go on…multiple people having to take leave to heal from the stress, employees being moved into new departments like they’re just pawns and not people. It’s disgusting. If you kiss the ring you’ll probably be fine, but as soon as you stop being a yes man they’ll push you out the door. So many good employees have quit in the last year. They’re the canary in the coal mine. This place is toxic. Not only is it toxic, they put people into leadership positions that have no business being there. Unqualified or underqualified buddies get promoted to the top. Best part is they ask for feedback but then call people with criticism “troublemakers” or say that they “don’t like change”. It’s not change that’s the problem, the problem is with what’s changing and how.
