Pros

They offer a pretty flexible work schedule. Vacation accrual and benefits are also pretty good.

Cons

Depending on the market you're in there is not much room for advancement. As with most retailers payroll is scare for the daily workload.

Pros

Good vacation, good benefits if your full time. Steady paycheck. Not to hard of a job. Above minimum wage for entry level positions. Possibly of making a killing on commission if you have the drive. Some but limited room for advancement (depending on your store and district manager).

Cons

The limitation of advancement also has it's drawbacks. Constant price changes or ad events where the only thing that changes is the message on the tag 90% of the time. Extremely micromanaged environment do not dare to deviate from SOP even in the slightest or there goes your raise or worse. Do not promote from within. (Seen many good people deserving people who go above and beyond for the sake of the company get shafted because of the determination to bring in everyone from the outside). High turnover. No work life balance work 2 or 3 overnights followed by an early shift then a close. Constantly reminding the cashiers to meet there numbers on the programs and name collection or be ready to sign PMR's. Never get to travel for the holidays because of black Friday side walk sales. Overtime forbidden.

Pros

Extremely structured environment. Every aspect is covered by Standard Operating Procedures.

Cons

As a company there is not much room to use any innovative thought. The model is to just do what the SOP says, no deviation.
