Pros

casual dress, good pay, people at the analyst level are very nice and all around good people

Cons

12-14 hr days, chained to blackberry, awful IT and technology, management doesn't care about you, upper management so worried about own job so could care less about those under them, mad morale, awful company culture, high turnover, no parking

Pros

Coworkers and store level management are nice, possibility for improving hourly pay with spiffs, flexible scheduling, PTO

Cons

Understaffed, pitiful pay, warranty company is getting worse and worse, mail card procedure is ridiculous. As a cashier I had to ask so many questions (or risk being written up) that I was standing there talking long after I'd finished ringing up items. If they just invested in radio or TV ads instead of relying on mailing advertisements from the time the company was founded (I think it's time to grow...) they'd pull in so many more customers and make it easier on the peons like me. Easily one of the biggest wastes of paper I have ever seen -- nowhere near being remotely green. Inside Track Club membership is completely bogus, if you receive a Sunday paper you'll get coupons better than the ones you have to pay for. That brings me to another thing.. THE COUPONS.

Pros

Good place to learn sales, repetitive work, opportunity to increase your base wage via sales commissions, fast paced work environment.

Cons

Company will require you to use your personal vehicle while on the clock and refuse reimbursement for gasoline. Entry level associates will never be able to obtain any position above Head Cashier no matter how hard they work. The company culture is to use fear tactics and workplace intimidation to drive sales instead of positive reinforcement. No matter how good your numbers are you will still be threatened with documentation. Company policies are selectively enforced. Low wages for all positions outside of the ASM level or above. Harbor Freight Tools has more ways to write you up between paydays then any company I have ever worked with.
