A strong business model and they will do well in any business environment.

Cons

The company and corporate office have a toxic culture. Several of the top managers control every dept and anyone or anything they feel is a threat they will fire.

Pros

Affter years of working in retail I found Harbor Freight. Since I joined HFT I have been able to spend every Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family. I don't have to rush to work or miss family celebrations becasue Harbor Freight is closed. My wife and kids are very thankful for HFT, as I am. The growth is non-stop. The Benefits are the best in retail.

Cons

Training is good but still some opportunity.

What Work/Life Balance?

I'm trying real hard to come up with one...but the only thing that comes to mind is being off on Thanksgiving.

Cons

The company preaches it's core principles and values itself on work/life balance. In turn it throws so much workload at stores (10-22 hours of POG, 2-3 cycle counts, an outs scan, nightly replenishment which is approximately 8 hours a night, bi-weekly price changes which are typically about 6-8 hours and trucks which can be anywhere between 64 and 90 hours of workload. Oh, and it all gets completed during "dark hours" which is the time between store close and store open. What work/life balance?
