I had 0 work life balance working for harbor freight. My store was extremely busy at all times doing often 25-30,000 every single business day. Yes, even a Monday!
We had no down time. The company runs stores and bare bones payroll 30,000 dollars on 3 coverage… completely unacceptable.
I took work home DAILY! After working 50+ hours I was doing more at home. UNPAID! I wrote every store schedule at home for three years! There was NEVER time to do admin work in store.
By the time I was finally able to leave this company I was so ragged and exhausted from running all day long loading tool boxes, driving fork lifts, etc etc… it took me over 6 months to fully feel like myself again. I promise this job has taken years of my life!
I sacrificed so much and was only offered a promotion when I gave my notice - which affirmed for me that I wasn’t overlooked or under qualified - I was used.
