Pros

You will be working on Federal Government contracts. Good opportunities for growth. Management is good and very supportive. Good work life balance. This is a small company but they are growing at a fast rate. More opportunities in the future.

Cons

Nothing that I can think of.

Pros

Lots of good people Exciting work

Cons

It took me a while to really come to terms with how bad my experience here actually was. It was my first job out of college and I didn't really understand what professionalism was supposed to look like. After getting screamed at in a meeting by upper management, I finally left the company and almost left the field entirely, but fortunately took a contracting position elsewhere. I was amazed at how much easier I found it to grow with a manager who was able to criticize my work while still respecting me as a person. Bottom line - Harmonia was a decent place to launch my career and I learned a lot, but I wish I'd left a lot sooner.

Thank you for your honest feedback, and I am truly sorry you had this experience. Sometimes passion for the work and for the success of the team can be expressed inappropriately, and it is important for all of us to continue to grow as managers and as professionals and hone our communication skills to better impact our goals. I do hope you took the opportunity to connect with HR/other management regarding your experience so that we were able to mentor and provide direction as needed to ensure that situation didn't happen again. I am glad that you were able to learn a lot as part of our team, and it sounds as though, despite our imperfections, we provided a good foundation for your career. We do want to treat our team well, and I appreciate that you recognize that. Our employees are the best part of who we are, and mutual respect and trust are essential to our continued success.

Pros

The people are very nice. I made lasting friendships at Harmonia.

Cons

Compensation is simply unacceptable for the industry. Harmonia pays their employees very little in comparison to the industry so that they can offer low rates on government contracts (which in theory allows them to secure more contracts). The agile process in use at Harmonia is beyond outdated. Work is assigned to you on a per-sprint basis, which de-incentivizes people from taking time away from their own work to help their coworkers. This results in every single developer at the company being perpetually stressed and struggling to keep their head above water. Employees have no choice but to focus more on completing their assigned work than contributing to their project/team as a whole. Overall, it is incredibly stressful. To put it frankly, my time at Harmonia was the most stressful period of my entire life. Very unhealthy.

As I'm sure you are aware, for the last year we have been providing SAFe Agilist training to every single employee who wants it in an effort to step up our capabilities in regards to Agile methodology. I hope you took advantage of that opportunity to be involved in positive change and progress, given your concerns. And no, we probably aren't able to pay as much as some of the large tech companies; but we make up for it in other ways, and our retention rates and 93% employee satisfaction rates speak to that. We also provide extremely affordable benefits (most being free with only $25 monthly premiums for Health Insurance) and a generous 401(k) match of 5%. And we CARE about our teams and our communities and go out of our way to ensure each person on our team truly feels a part of the "Harmonia family". I hope you at least felt that, based on the lasting friendships you made here. At the end of the day, while we know money matters (we all need to pay our bills) we value- and reward-- team players who are motivated by opportunities for innovation, strategic improvement, and being part of a company that makes an impact and cares for others; and while we appreciate constructive criticism intended to improve the way we work and/or care for our team, I have found that criticism brought up in a public forum seldom has that intent. I do hope you also took the opportunity to bring up these concerns with your management while you were still part of the team- as it is only by addressing problems that we are able to resolve them.
