      It's like any other part-time job

      Pros

      Had a great team lead, she understood my schedule as a college student working to pay bills. I enjoyed the majority of my co-workers and our regular customers made the shifts go by faster. It was great because we didn't have to balance the cash drawer or do any of that because the customer service department took care of that.

      Cons

      Terrible Store Manager, was not in touch with any of the departments needs. Constantly cut our hours and needed employees to cover shifts. Multiple times we were left alone during a rush period which caused upset customers. Granted it could just be this specific store.

      Reward associates with gift cards and free subs! Pay is above average and hourly associates have great flexibility with scheduling

      One of the worst jobs you could ever have, I wouldn't even recommend a high school student looking for their first job to apply here. Harris teeter is one of the most repulsive companies to work for; a small company that's is vastly growing but don't plan on moving up if you were not there in the beginning, are close with someone who was there in the beginning, or if you're not willing to sleep with someone who was there from the beginning or is higher up on the management charts. Harris teeter is a place where the customer is always right and comes first no matter what the scenario is and where management will tell you in the sales floor in front of customer that, they do not need you and "everyone is replaceable." Back stabbing and self worth/ self-advancement and lying/taking advantage of new/ young emoplyees is the motto at this company.
