Not worth it.

Pros

Can be flexible, okay pay for first time job, easy job, 401k matching (for what it's worth).

Cons

The management is a joke, there is little to no consideration to the length of shifts given (often 9 to 10 hour shifts, while I am a full time student), the customers can be quite testy at times, the pay is barely above minimum wage, open on holidays(thanksgiving, New Years, etc.), requested time off gets ignored about 4 out of 5 times, very inconsistent hours, and overall just a bad place to work.

Pros

Great company to work for while at school, even better if you want to be in management. Once in management, you could be over depts. or stores in a couple short years. Great benefits for full time and part time employees.

Cons

Sometimes it is hard to get in management or the "management in training" because of the availability. Store and assistant store managers seemed to be put in different stores whenever Harris Teeter feel the need to do so.

Pros

This company has been paying well but are on the decline recently.

Cons

Will work you to death. Rediculous expectations. Could care less about associates as individuals. The company has been cutting bonuses of district managers, corporate office workers, co managers and have been kicking some dept managers out of the management bonus plan altogether and cutting their hours from 44 to 40. What a gross injustice to take away a good 25% of a dept managers income who have been with the company for years and have been loyal hard workers. The company refuses to give a reasonable amount of labor hours. Constantly cutting labor only hurts the company. If each man on your dairy frozen crew has 4 or 5 hundred cases to work and only 8 or 9 hours scheduled and the dept manager has orders to complete and ddrs to do and reclaim to scan ect....not to mention being bombarded with customers.....where is the time for customer service and cleaning?
