Pros

Honestly there really are none

Cons

Terrible pay for hourly associates they'll pay someone in the same position as you, who's been there a shorter time than you, more management is complete trash at the store level for the most part corporate turns a blind eye to everything at store level; they'll impose regulations without having an inkling of an idea of how it'll affect things on a micro level

Pros

Paid weekly. Great co-workers Hours - generally around 36 to 37.5. My management skills have improved because I can now relate to what it's like to work for crappy management. I don't want any of my employees to deal with what I'm dealing with.

Cons

Management - The management at my store is atrocious. Every day I have to convince myself not to quit. Don't bother asking them for help or clarification. They'll just treat you like you are unintelligent or annoying. Their job is to show up, make sure the store is running correctly, and be as unapproachable and unhelpful to their staff as they can. When they do talk to you, you wish they didn't. Training - They think that because they make you take HOURS of computer training that they have a great training program. They depend on this training so much that they lack in person training skills. I hope you know how to do everything once you finish the online training. After that, you are on your own. Customers - The same as in every retail store. Most are okay. There are a lot of really crappy people though. Breaks - They give you one unpaid 30-minute break if you work over 6 hours. You are supposed to get an additional paid 15 minute break. The only way you get the 15 minute break in my store is if you threaten to report them to corporate. You are also supposed to get two 30 minute breaks if you work at least 8 hours. That has yet to be seen. Harris Teeter has put me off retail forever. Currently applying for other jobs.

Pros

Great pay if you work hard

Cons

Throughout the stores all they care about is cutting labor but, quick to make you feel obligated to stay over when it’s busy. Especially in express lane. No loyalty to full time hard working employees. If your part time and do a crappy job they will always give you the benefit of the doubt.
