Pros

Cons

Management and upper management don’t really care about you—especially considering in this position you’re nothing more than a punching bag for displeased customers.

We are disappointed to hear you had such a negative experience at HBP. Being a technical customer service rep can be challenging, especially when dealing with difficult customers. We would like to learn more about your experience with management. If you have suggestions for how management can better support our tech customer service representatives, please let us know by reaching out to feedback@harvardbusiness.org.

Pros

Office culture is good, collegial and respectful, though heavy on meetings. Work-life balance is good as well: not expected to work excessive hours. People are understanding if you have doctor's appointments, sick kids, etc.

Cons

Not too many, although people tend to stay here a long time, so career advancement can be slow as there is not a lot of churn. This could be seen as a plus, however. The IT department is poorly organized and chronically short staffed.
