Pros

- Good work life balance - Decent pay - Brand recognition - Free parking

Cons

There is almost no racial diversity at HBP and there also seems to be a lack of diversity in worldview and upbringing. This is something they really need to work on to be competitive and to innovate outside the "ivory tower." Managers talk-the-talk but do not walk-the-walk--relying instead on their teams to do everything and then taking credit for the work. Pretty ironic considering the mission is "to improve the practice of management." Could take some tips from their own content. Management is completely in love with themselves and hold themselves in high regard--need to work on humility in a big way. Purport to be a technology company but the investments don't support that vision.

Pros

Tremendous opportunities for growth and development. Strong intellectual firepower everywhere. They practice what they publish and seek to continuously learn and improve as an organization. Great place to build general management skills. Innovation is encouraged and rewarded.

Cons

Silo'd units. Efforts to work cross-organizationally are labored.

Pros

Nearly everyone I worked with was kind and considerate. Coworkers have a desire to help and support my career even after leaving the office. The work itself was also fairly well organized, though could feel a bit hectic at times.

Cons

There were a lot of hoops to jump through to get anything done, most likely due to the difficulty of managing the not-for-profit budget. Also felt like there was a disconnect between different departments.
