Pros

Good benefits/bonus structure - Same health/retirement benefits as other parts of Harvard but since it's a corporation there is an annual performance based bonus Non-toxic work environment - Been with the company many years and everyone gets along great Good work/life balance - No one expects you to work beyond 5pm. Half days on Fridays during the summer.

Cons

Limited room to grow on smaller teams - You can get stuck in a position and just stay there for 20+ years Pay below average - Compared to for-profit companies pay is low Suffocating amount of management - For the small size of teams there are a lot of managers, too many meetings to decide everything so decisions are slow Open floor plan - there is a lot of unused space but everyone is grouped together in these small low-walled cubicles.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are happy to hear that you continue to have a generally positive experience and hope you continue on the journey with us. We have heard employee concerns about career growth and are working on a company-wide career ladder/career path initiative which will provide employees the clarity needed to facilitate formal growth within their functional ladder and across the organization. Given the market and our not-for-profit status, we feel that our total compensation package is highly competitive, especially when taking our bonus structure and benefits into account. Our collaborative culture and approach to include multiple perspectives, does lead to more meetings than necessary and can hinder the decision making process at times. We are working on ways to increase efficiencies without losing the value of collaborating in meetings. More to come!
