Bad Timing - Good to their employees when times are good.

Pros

If they have projects, they are a good company to work for. Lots of great benefits for a private company and a lot of opportunity to move up within the company.

Cons

No support when projects end. The Vancouver office had some very poor management at the top. It can be a bit of an all boys network

Pros

Industry standard compensation, career growth for engineers is strong and performance based (some politics as usual). Great learning experience for those starting their careers, lots of training opportunities.

Cons

Need to be very proactive to manage your career and choose projects, otherwise you will just get staffed on projects randomly and end with no cohesive experience. Lot of travel required, sometimes for long periods in remote areas.

Pros

The company's good about things like exercise (lunch-time gym classes), tons of charity social events, maybe even too many. With offices all over the world, there's opps for travel. Many truly brilliant people work here, which contributes to the professional atmosphere. And people help each other. If you ask the right expert, he/she will share all their knowledge.

Cons

It's got a flattened hierarchy. To the point of a pancake. So you can grow technically, but very difficult to advance in the traditional sense. Bonuses and shares are a mystery. Job levels are peculiar (more secret flatness).
