Pros

Leadership runs Health Catalyst with the people in mind. I feel valued and it shows through policies and the priorities management gives me. In my roles I have had good relationships with my direct manager and felt very valued and productive and I think those values were trickled down through senior leadership. I just got back from a generous paternity leave where I was given sufficient time to not worry about work and take care of the new baby. It says alot about a company that I didn't worry too much about work.

Cons

A few years ago, I submitted a glassdoor review stating that the large teams within health catalyst didn't communicate nor collaborate very well. This has improved significantly and I have seen large steps taken to break down barriers and collaborate better. This is still an issue but I am optimistic that it will continue to improve. Survey fatigue! I can only answer the questions "Would I recommend working at Health Catalyst to a friend?" so many times! Senior leadership does let us know they read reviews and use the results of surveys, but I have a hard time caring when most of the questions are the same and get over a dozen surveys a year. It seems they value being "Best company to work for" more than utilizing the answers and improving. It is important for recruiting, but I think if the employees are fatigued, they will give less accurate answers and just give what they think senior leadership wants.

Thank you for your review and feedback, and I'm very glad to hear that you feel appreciated and valued, and that you had a positive experience being enabled to take paternity leave -- congratulations on your new arrival! I also feel grateful for your 5+ years of work contributing to Health Catalyst's growth and success, as a senior software engineer. Your role is critical to our success and I appreciate your long-term commitment to the company. I am also encouraged to receive your feedback about cross-organizational collaborations. We certainly still have room for improvement, but I also see progress. We'll keep focusing here, which I believe will help us continue to improve. Thank you also for sharing the feedback regarding survey fatigue, particularly as it relates to "Best Place to Work" surveys. We probably do need to reduce this, so we will take that as an action item. We can keep a focus on those surveys where we study the responses and take action in order to work to continuously improve and/or make an important decision. We'll discuss one such survey during today's all-team-member meeting, where we would like to have the benefit of team members' perspective before making a strategic decision. Finally, thanks for the suggestion regarding support for Open Space. We'll discuss your suggestion as a leadership team, for an Open Space day once a year. Thank you again for your 5+ years of contribution to our company! Best, Dan

Pros

Health Catalyst is a great place to work. The CEO and the executive team work hard to ensure that every team member feels valued and appreciated. This is done not only through word but also by action. In my time with Health Catalyst, I have been compensated fairly, received amazing benefits, and have enjoyed a great work-life balance. All this while doing meaningful work. In my opinion, Health Catalyst is best company you could work for. Though the work of transforming Healthcare is rewarding, it can be tough. I work in a client-facing role that can be stressful and demanding at times. But through it all, I have never felt alone. All of my co-workers have been phenomenal. There is a great team environment with each member being willing to help while still maintaining sincere interest in one another. Health Catalyst strives to hire World-Class employees and it shows.

Cons

While Health Catalyst encourages their employees to develop and learn, not a lot of in-house training is provided. When training is brought up it is often through books, pre-recorded videos, or third-party videos. It should be noted that Health Catalyst does offer a generous educational assistance benefit for self-directed training or training through a third-party. Though these options can provide value, I believe there is a plethora of untapped knowledge within Health Catalyst that could be used to train and develop other employees. Such training would be beneficial and better prepare employees for their future careers whether that be at Health Catalyst or somewhere else. Personally, I hope to stay at Health Catalyst for a long time but I want to make sure I am developing skills that could be used inside or outside of Health Catalyst.

Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed review and feedback. I really appreciate it. I'm also encouraged to hear of your positive experiences during the past 1-2 years of your time as a team member at Health Catalyst. You certainly have my commitment to keep the team member experience as my #1 priority. I also appreciated your thoughts and feedback regarding training and development, and the potential to have Health Catalyst offer more direct training and education. I'm excited about some of the new training content being developed, specifically in the professional services organization, that I hope will be useful to you. We have been investing in developing this content and training support, so I hope you will find it helpful as we roll it out. Thank you again for choosing to come to Health Catalyst and to stay at Health Catalyst. Best, Dan

Thank you for your review and for your perspective. We are working to be more integrated and united across products and services, and I'm encouraged to see this progress. As we work to more fully integrate products and services together, it will naturally follow that the broader organization will have more direct exposure to clients and their expectations. We are already seeing this through the formation of some of our "business lines" like the platform, life sciences and financial business lines, where we're integrating products and services together in this business. We'll keep working on this integration, and I would ask for your help in enabling us to become more and more united and integrated. Thank you for playing a critical role of Engagement Leader, for the past 5-7 years, at Health Catalyst. You've given so much, contributed so much, during that time of significant growth and change for the company, and for that I am sincerely grateful to you. Also, if you have other ideas as to how we could achieve more full integration, I'd be happy to visit 1:1 with you -- just let Jenn Howard know and we'll get it set up. Best, Dan
