Pros

- A profound commitment to team members. The default answer to most issues ends up being a consideration of what solution is best for the team member. - Challenging environment with an opportunity to learn new things - Benefits and work-life balance and second to none - Leadership is methodical and considerate when making tough decisions - An awesome mission to improve healthcare in the US

Cons

- I've had the opportunity to work for a few managers in my time here and the experience of the team member can still vary greatly from role to role and department to department. - Variation in each team's approach and tools used, this can make things very difficult for cross-functional team members that work with many product teams. - Growing company headaches still remain

Thank you for your thoughts and feedback, informed by over five years at the company! Thank you for all of your contributions during those five-plus years! I share your perspective about the importance of manager development, training and accountability. We are rolling out the 360-degree manager feedback by the end of this year, and we will utilize that information to help us improve in this important area. We've already rolled out the first round, with a subset of leadership team. We'll roll out to the full leadership team and extended leadership team within two weeks, and then extend beyond that by the end of the year. We as a leadership team recognize the central importance of the relationship between the team member and their manager, and we will focus here to enable continuous improvement. Thank you again for your contributions over so many years! Best, Dan

Pros

- Competitive pay and great benefits. - Executive leadership that really cares about its people and its clients, and it shows. - A strong and motivating mission statement that keeps me going despite some frustrations.

Cons

- Communication between teams seem disorganized at best and non-existent at worst. - I feel a certain degree of inter-team coordination is missing. Dependencies of one team's products with another teams products are causing issues. Assumptions one team makes about another team also sews confusion and missed expectations. - We are still catching up on ripple effects from a major reorg. Personally, my position has stagnated due to changed structural needs and a way forward has taken much longer to figure out than anticipated. - Technical debt and lack of development resources are now biting us operationally.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. It resonates with me, and your suggestions feel appropriate and helpful. As we announced the results of our interviews for the COO position, I do believe this new appointment and the scope of responsibility within the COO organization, to be company-wide, will enable this cross-company operational standardization and integration that will be key to our scale as a company moving forward. We are also trying to be very thoughtful about development investments as we prepare the 2019 operating plan. This is involving challenging decisions, but we are trying to be careful and strategic in those decisions. Thank you again for your feedback and your contributions! Best, Dan

Pros

Meaningful work helping Health Systems find outcome improvements for their patients. Generous time off and compensation packages. Work/Life balance is the best I have experienced anywhere.

Cons

Environment can feel very cliquish at times. We have changed our philosophy a couple of times, and I have only worked with clients on an older model (clients paying for FTEs,) and I feel like I am being left behind. I love my job, but I don't feel like I am in the right crowd in order to get on highly visible projects. I have resigned myself to staying in my current role and don't feel very optimistic about advancement..

Thanks for sharing this feedback. I hope we can make some adjustments were you feel like you have a fantastic set of career opportunities at Health Catalyst, no matter where your client assignments take you. We are right now in the midst of renewing and re-negotiating some of our contract relationships with a few of our largest clients, and updating some of the structures around professional services, which should be a win for our clients, and a win for team members, as it will build in more flexibility as to who performs what work where. I think this will add to your opportunities to provide meaningful contributions at your assigned client and elsewhere as well. This will come into effect over the next six months or so. These large client relationships are incredibly important to the company, and I sincerely appreciate your direct contributions to their success -- those contributions matter a great deal to me and to our company's future. Thank you for your commitment to the company for over three years, and for taking the time to share this feedback. Best, Dan
