Pros

Most important to me is that even though I am a remote employee (Minneapolis, MN area), I feel that the leadership team cares about me. There are so many benefits to this job: ability to work remote, good pay, reasonably priced health care/dental/other, bonus potential, partial reimbursement of Internet/mobile phone and gym are just a few things I appreciate! The entire company seems to have strong ethics and values.

Cons

The clinical data abstractors are currently a "unique" position within the company (acquired during a partnership). I don't know if there is room for advancement, should I wish to seek that in the future.

Pros

I have worked at a variety of companies throughout my career and I can firmly say that Health Catalyst is the best company I have ever worked for. Catalyst treats it's employees with incredible respect. As an employee, you feel as if you are valuable to the company, not just another employee there to help top management succeed. They are extremely open in their communication with employees in almost all company decisions. One of the greatest attributes that Catalyst has is their trust in their employees. I have been at companies where there is so much micro-managing and a tight grip on their employees that moral and turnover is through the roof. As an employee here you do as much as you can because you truly want the company to succeed as where in some companies, you do as much as you can so you won't get fired.

Cons

No cons that I can think of

Thank you for your thoughts and advice. Please know that we as a leadership company talk and think about this issue of sustaining and strengthening our culture often, and that I personally feel like this is a major (if not the major) plank in my platform as the Chief People Officer. I think about (and work on) how we can do this every day. The bigger we get, the greater and more complex the challenge becomes from a messaging/communication/ internalization standpoint, but it is a challenge worth tackling everyday. A company where all team members contribute because they truly want the company to succeed (to use your words), is a company that will see great, great success over a long period of time. We plan to be helping to improve outcomes for our partner organizations for decades to come, and to do that we need to maintain the aspects of our business that "cannot change". Thank you so much for your contributions to this important effort!

Pros

Amazing benefits, from great insurance w/ HSA match, to fitness/internet/cell phone/transit reimbursement, generous 401k, and more. The benefits are the #1 reason I'm still here. The company has a good mission and inspiring passion for it. Culture is a good mix of professionalism and fun. Executive leaders are genuine people who will learn your name, listen to your feedback, make you feel valued, and are deeply invested in making the company success from many perspectives.

Cons

I work at a remote site and often feel that the "corporate" team is not receptive to my team's on-the-ground voice of experience from working at a client site. Change can also be very slow. Larger-team projects, hiring/promotions, etc - anything that touches leadership takes a long of time.

Thanks for your thoughts! I agree and can empathize with your concern that change can be slow. It sure can be! We will continue to work on these issues, but I know that for me personally, I can tend to be impatient with the pace of change. We will keep at it though! Thanks for all that you do out there in the Alina office!
