Pros

Decent benefits, though they’ve been pulled back recently. Great mission and good people

Cons

Compensation has been stunted lately, raises harder to come buy, bonuses and stock compensation is gone for most roles. They’ve also shrunk a lot of other benefits recently, including 401k match. Morale generally is bit tough, as there have been so many layoffs the last few years, and shifting in the upper levels of management have left us feeling some whiplash. Being public, mixed with some macro economic pressure and some questionable management decisions/strategy have made things not as rosey as they once were.

Thank you for sharing this feedback and for your commitment of more than eight years. We acknowledge that the past few years have been tough, and the impact of compensation changes, benefit reductions, and ongoing organizational shifts is real. We’re focused on doing better. That includes being clearer around our decisions, acknowledging where past choices haven’t served our teams well, and providing a steadier plan for what comes next. Restoring predictability, rebuilding morale, and strengthening the team member experience are top priorities. We appreciate your openness. Your feedback will help shape future improvements.

Pros

The company mission is very important to me. They value transparency and open communication.

Cons

We are in a transition point and will hopefully figure out "who we are". The past few years have involved a lot of acquisitions, and how we all fit together is not entirely clear. Also, benefits have been cut significantly and are now falling behind industry norms.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and for your commitment to our mission. We know the past few years of change have created real uncertainty, including around how our teams fit together and how we maintain competitive benefits. We’re focused now on bringing greater clarity to our structure, defining who we are as a unified organization, and providing clarity about the decisions ahead. Thank you for your honesty and your continued dedication. Your feedback helps guide the improvements we need to make.

Pros

Great compensation and reimbursement for home office, internet, and phone

Cons

Internal tech and programs felt limiting although a shift began to incorporate more universal ones. However, training for those was not formally put together Several rounds of layoffs in my less than two years there.

I appreciate you sharing your experience and sincerely thank you for your time and contributions as a valued team member at Health Catalyst. As has also been the case for a number of annual planning cycles over each of the past several years, there have been some team member reductions in certain areas, just as it is likely that there will be areas of increased investment as part of every annual planning cycle. This is a practice that occurs at most large, financially sustainable companies as part of their annual planning processes and should not come as a surprise to team members as it occurs. Importantly, even though this is uncomfortable, we remain committed to communicating the expectation, which we have shared more than a dozen times over the past several years, that we expect that there will be some level of reductions, including team member position reductions, as part of every annual planning cycle. With this, we also strive to be in a position to provide generous severance and rally to support affected team members. We are also grateful to have provided meaningful base salary increases in late 2024, which followed another meaningful companywide base salary increase in mid-2023 for our team members. These were top priorities in our annual planning cycles, even in challenging times. While we remain committed to upholding our value of transparency when communicating our annual planning process and related decisions, I’m confident we are far from perfect, and we can make improvements here. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. – Dan Burton
