      Still a Great Place to Work

      Pros

      Great culture - Leadership's decisions, especially at the very top, are more transparent than you will find in virtually any other organization. They also focus on the welfare of the employees (which we all call "team members"). Almost everyone I've ever met here is very easy to work with. The politics are usually kept to a minimum. Excellent work-life balance - Some roles, usually the daily client-facing ones, may require longer than work weeks, but those of us working on the product side of the company are usually able to accomplish what we need to within 40 hours per week.

      Cons

      As with other organizations in healthcare and tech in recent years, we have fount it challenging to adapt to the post-Covid macro economy. We have seen our first significant layoffs in the 13 years since our company was founded. Even so, there is a strong effort by leadership to rely on this as a last resort and to provide very good severance and other help to those affected.

      Pros

      Supportive Management: Both my direct manager and senior management are exceptional. They truly embody the company's values and consistently look out for their team members' best interests. Positive Culture: The company culture at Health Catalyst is one of its strongest assets. It fosters a sense of community and mutual respect among employees. Work-Life Balance: Health Catalyst understands the importance of work-life balance and encourages its employees to maintain a healthy balance between their professional and personal lives. Learning Opportunities: The nature of the work provides ample opportunities to learn and grow as a data analyst.

      Cons

      Limited Promotional Opportunities: Due to the current cost-saving environment, promotions are hard to come by. This can be a bit discouraging for those looking to advance in their careers. Compensation: While the pay is fair, it's not the highest in the industry. This could potentially affect employee retention in the long run. Technology Adoption: The company could be more proactive in adopting newer technologies. Staying current with technology trends is crucial to avoid being left behind in the competitive healthcare analytics industry.

I recognize that economic realities have reduced our ability to offer promotions for every team member. However, I am pleased that, as we balance being EBITDA positive, we were able to offer raises to all of our team members this year, in line with the compensation data we receive from Radford. I’m also hopeful that in the future we will earn the right to build in more and expanded benefits to our team members. I appreciate your creative thoughts for career advancement opportunities.       Lots of reorgs, but hopeful for the future

      Pros

      Leadership truly seems to care about their employees. They are as transparent as they can be about changes to the company and the challenges we're facing. The benefits are good, my schedule is flexible, and I can maintain a good work/life balance. I've had the chance to expand my responsibilities, and I'm hoping that will continue.

      Cons

      Due to many reorgs on my teams, I have had four different managers over the last couple of years, and I am now in a completely new department. I'm hopeful that there won't be further changes in the near future, but it's been difficult to settle and feel comfortable when there have been so many unknowns.
