Pros

Very supportive company run by HIM professionals. Well known for their education resources and experts in all aspects of coding.

Cons

Not many cons. Other than it’s tough to stay engaged in coding at a high level for me in a production capacity with only retirement decades away in sight. It’s but for everyone, but can be an amazing career.

For those staff that want to grow in their career we do have a career path. Coders are routinely promoted into a consultant/auditing role. Any open management, QA and education positions are advertised internally first as we prefer to promote from within. We also love our staff that enjoying Coding. Once you become an HIA employee we work hard to get that perfect job fit for you!

Pros

Some of the pros for working at HIA are: flexibility, great work/family life balance, lots of support and education so you can increase your coding skills, full remote, management is caring and supportive, communication is great, family reunions, monthly team meetings, etc..

Cons

Sometimes being fully remote it gets a little lonely and you feel disconnected but there are ways to help that!

Pros

HIA gives you the equipment you need to work remotely from home. They also provide excellent education for coding updates as well as diagnoses that can be difficult to code and they have a dedicated education team that maintains a coder question database and are available to answer questions as you need them for difficult cases. Amazing IT staff that keeps everything running smoothly. The management team is always available for whatever employees need, and they are a positive, fun, and encouraging group!

Cons

If you have to work with people in person, this may not be the best option for you. We do have meetings where we see each other virtually though!
