Pros

I was lucky to have a very supportive boss who appreciated and recognized hard work and creative ideas. I was allowed to explore and recommend new ways of doing things, and to have a fair amount of automy in making decisions that affected my work.

Cons

Upper management was very insular and made decisions in a vacuum. Decisions were made by force of personalities, not by fact-finding. In-house training on 'diversity' was insulting. Long-term employees were often promoted due only to tenure, not skill sets.

Great work-life balance The people are great to work with Good benefits Fair management practices Flexible regarding personal life issues/challenges People work hard and take pride in their work

Cons

Very consensus-based organization - makes it challenging to get projects approved and accomplished in a timely manner. Few standard operating procedures and work processes which leads to duplication of effort on behalf of employees in various departments. Not enough administrative support. No career paths and no formal career/development planning.
