Pros
I was lucky to have a very supportive boss who appreciated and recognized hard work and creative ideas. I was allowed to explore and recommend new ways of doing things, and to have a fair amount of automy in making decisions that affected my work.
Cons
Upper management was very insular and made decisions in a vacuum. Decisions were made by force of personalities, not by fact-finding. In-house training on 'diversity' was insulting. Long-term employees were often promoted due only to tenure, not skill sets.
