Pros

My move to HealthFusion has been the best choice I have made, both for my career and my growth as a front-end devloper. I am a passionate UX/UI Web Developer who always wants to build the best, most usable, and highest performing applications. Everyone here, from the CEO to the Junior developers, shares that passion. I certainly made the right decision. We have a culture that values hard work and doing things "the right way". The development environment is collaborative, where everyone has a voice and decisions are made by the team. This type of setting fosters creativity and innovation, resulting in the opportunity to help build next-generation EHR, Practice Management, and Patient Portal applications. Working two blocks from the beach isn't awful, either.

Cons

Our company is growing quickly, and our project backlog is growing with it. It has been hard to employ enough application developers to meet the level of growth.

- As engineer you have a ton of work to choose from and hence able to make an impact quickly. - Good performers are rewarded handsomely - Lots of fun stuff to work with since HIT rules, laws constantly changing. - Founders react quickly to ever changing landscape in HIT, transforming every opportunity into a great feature our users will love. We started with clearing house products, but as the HIT, MU came around, we quickly reorganized our focus to our award winning product Meditouch. - Freedom to choose technology that is appropriate for the business problem - Product development open to engineer suggestion to change in workflow or feature. - Across Pacific Coast Highway - beach is less than 5 min away - when need to think clearly - go for a walk upto the San Elijjo Lagoon - come back with the solution to implement! - Less bureaucracy, values merit over longevity - Good team work - Quick decision making - Effective coordination between engineering, requirements, sales, customer support - Great people to work with - good, warm hearted people I admire as friends - Flat mgmt hierarchy - any one can walk over to the CEO to share their opinion - Still growing very rapidly..environment not stagnant yet. - great 401K matching 4% of your annual salary vested immediately

Start very early but the hours are great.

Cons

Management is awful, no leadership. Bad or no training, poor base salary, hard to make commissions.

I am glad you liked the hours when you worked at HealthFusion. With regard to management it is important to note that our current manager of the sales team has extensive sales experience and holds weekly meetings with the sales team to review goals, campaigns and to provide sales tips. We do have a sales training program for new employees and each year we expand that program. We do expect that new employees have sales experience when joining our company. With regard to making commissions all I can say is that sales is not for everyone, but in the past 2 years 80% of our sales team meets or exceeds their targets and they are compensated handsomely for their effort.
