      Not Transparent in Hiring- Small per cent earn the majority of the money

      Lots of well know carriers.

      Cons

      They did not tell me about the Terminated Agent Vesting Rules when I was hired. If you leave within three years of hire you are charged and owe a 33% service fee on all first year commissions and renewals. It is not stated in the agent kit when you are hired, but in a Commission Addendum you have to search for to find in their agent Resource page. Also not told that in an office of 14, the top 3 agents made more than the remaining 11 agents combined. The whole company is that way. Huge disparity in sales in this company. If you interview ask how many agents earn under $50,000. The number is going to be way over half.

      HealthMarkets is a great place to work! You have the freedom of making your own schedule, and you make what you put your mind too! The salary is endless! The coworkers are great as well! They really take care of you here at HealthMarkets.

      I started in the insurance business in 2006. A friend of mine recruited me and his company worked in the senior market. It was a great fit for me, I immediately fell in love with the business. His company went through changes and he moved into investments. I stayed in the senior market. I was like a lone wolf no office, doing everything myself. A friend of mine called me from Texas just as the ACA was starting and had me call Sean McAleavy. Best move I've ever made. Not only are the people at Healthmarkets friendly they have access to all the major companies and plans. We have weekly sales meetings, the carriers come to our office, we have contests and spiffs anyone who is new to insurance or even if you've been selling for a while check out healthmarkets. I like to tell people it's the best job in the world but it's not a job I have a career and own my business. Thankyou Healthmarkets and Sean McAleavy for all you do. Craig Habbeshaw
