Pros

The company offers a vast selection of highly ranked insurance carriers, state-of-the-art quoting tools, advanced CRM technology, marketing support, stock ownership, training and competitive commissions. Because this is a sales organization the company puts a lot of manpower into finding new opportunities for agents to be successful.

Cons

The company offers a lot of tools for success but you need to put in the hard work. Your first year will be your toughest as you build your client base. Once you start earning residual income along with advanced commissions everything seems easier!

Pros

Not there long enough to find any. They are constantly advertising for new agents which is not a good sign.

Cons

You will not be paid for up to 2 months, this is allegedly the fault of the carriers. No attempt by the HeathMarkets agency to advance any monies earned in the interim. (willing to bet the execs get paid regularly)

Pros

Honestly, none. They help you get appointed with major carriers, which is helpful, but that is just to insure that they keep their cut of any commissions that you "earn" - assuming you ever actually get paid.

Cons

Horrible training. They spend ACT trying to get everyone to drink the Kool-Aid on selling supps with health insurance. No one ever bothers to train you on quoting, putting policies in the system, etc., and then when you don't they act like you should have known all along. The supps are a joke. They spin it as though they help cover the gaps left by high deductible plans, but the reality is the requirements that need to be met in order to actually collect on any of the supps only makes them useful in the event of a major catastrophic event. THEY DO NOT PAY YOU on health policies - and if you ask about where your payment is, you will get the run-around. You do get paid on supps pretty quickly, but it's minimal and they make several random deductions and it's impossible to figure out what the deductions are for. IT IS NOT A FLEXIBLE JOB. If, by flexible they mean you are not required to be in an office from 9-5, then I guess it is "flexible." But in exchange for not having working hours, you are basically ON CALL 24/7. Most of the work is done "after hours" - talking and/or meeting with people in the evening and weekends.
