Pros

This is a great company with great insurance companies working with them to provide a complete insurance package for the consumer.

Cons

There are a few: As stated, this is not a job, this is a business you are opening and running with HM as your contracted insurance backer. As such, it is very good to have a good amount of capital till things get going. The training is almost non-existent, however they are working on this and by next year all training will be standardized (which I wish they did when I first joined)

Pros

HealthMarkets has been an amazing company to work for. You are in business for yourself, but not by yourself. The accessibility of the top level agents sharing their "secrets" is priceless. The road map to success is at our fingertips taking the guess work out of the process. It's been an exiting ride!

Cons

Implementation. Without implementation and following the already marked signs on the road can lead you to crash and burn. A fully commissioned environment takes a bit of faith to follow those who have gone before you. It causes those week of mind to either grip the steering wheel and move forward or pull over to the side and look for a better suited model.

Pros

I found out about the company before I wasted more money or time

Cons

1. Company are sharks. More concern for making money then caring about customer 2. Having to wait to get appointed with companies but forced to sell anyway 3. Not getting paid for the sales 4. Waiting a year to get paid on health insurance 5. Being charged for the mandatory weekly conference call. 6. Being told that we are independent but forced to go to meetings that take up alot of time. 7. Being forced to sell Suppliments that don't offer so much to the customer but week bring big bucks to the agent 8. Paying for leads 9. Calling on the leads I paid for to find out that those leads had all agents calling the same customer 10. Cares more about bragging about the big sales instead of who they were able to help.
