The 4 by 10 schedule was created with the input of employees to increase work life balance by providing a 3 day weekend. In the event overtime is required, as it can be in a manufacturing environment, the schedule also helps to protect the employee’s weekend because overtime can be worked on Fridays to meet customer expectations.
