Pros

Easy access to location Lots of overtime available Employee parking garage Newer facility Easy to communicate with providers via youcallMD

Cons

Always understaffed and unsafe patient ratios. Always felt unsafe, leadership doesn’t look at acuity when arranging assignments. Expected to take more patients than can handle. ICU ratio is 3:1. Med tele was 7:1 when I left. Coworkers formed cliques, not always reliable. CEO doesn’t care about employees or their concerns. Micromanaged. Not enough support from upper management. Pulled off orientation early because of short-staffing. Lowest paying hospital in the valley.

Pros

Depending on the unit: Unit director approachable. Most charge nurses and co-workers helpful.

Cons

HR generalist is extremely unprofessional and discriminates. Patient to nurse ratio high. They make you sign a hefty contract. If you break contract they threaten to send you to collections if you don't pay thousands of dollars within 30 days.

Pros

Flexible per diem schedule. Cool coworkers for the most part.

Cons

Really crappy pay, really crappy hospital “security” who don’t do anything to actually protect you. This hospital needs armed security who can’t actually act on violent patients. I saw way too many of my coworkers get life altering injuries and no one even bats an eye. Security never gets better. Staff get punished if a violent person gets hurt while being restrained LOL. Insane. Chronic unpunished laziness with techs and nurses is also a huge problem. Also night shift is a soap opera
