Pros

Advancement Opportunities, Faith & Family based, provides Job Security, company is continuously working towards improvements for patients and staff, they listen to employee feedback. You can earn CTO/PTO by successfully donating blood. Employer does express care, compassion, and understanding towards staff and situations they may be going through. They do have an employee recognition system per each quarter. They offer an employee assistance program which covers mental health for staff and their family. You recieve x number of CTO/PTO hours per pay period (the number of hours you receive depends on your length of employment). They offer a gym membership for staff and their family (must be over 15 or 16 yrs old to participate with parent). They offer a decent work/life balance for staff.

Cons

Offered insurance is not very good and it is pretty expensive. They do not offer any sort of discounts for services received by their employees utilizing Hendrick Health providers and facilities. Holidays are not paid for employees unless you work the holiday. To be paid for the holiday you MUST use your CTO/PTO. They are often short handed, so services take much longer than the average to be seen or receive care. Specialists are booked out by many months; to receive a new patient appointment or a rescheduled appointment it may be a 6 month wait or more for certain specialists. The employee discount for the cafe is relatively small and the food and drinks are costly. The quarterly employee recognition system does not include all staff at every Hendrick Health location/facility. Gym membership is fairly costly. Some positions can be considered high stress. The pay could use some work.

Thank you for your review. We have worked diligently to provide competitive pay and time off. We recently updated our time off accrual structure, and we are glad to hear that you are enjoying that benefit. While there has been a 6%+ increase in medical premiums across the nation, Hendrick is proud that we only have a 1% increase. We have many perks for employees, including an employee discount in the cafeteria. We offer a discount to our Health Clubs in north and south Abilene, with a site that is 24/7 access. We have a dedicated employee app where you can give and receive recognition to your peers that allow you to accrue points to redeem for gift cards. We also have wellness services to help you with managing your stress and learn how to meditate. Lastly, our Mission and Ministry team is available for employees.
