Pros

Work to life balance is decent- better than some retailers. 17 paid vacation days for full time managers.

Cons

Corporate is run by a bunch of girls who are absolutely clueless. Very unorganized and difficult to meet all demands as they set very unrealistic goals. Recent change to bonus structure- must meet, as a store, a $200 SPH in order to bonus. Store manager bonus is HUGE while the assistant store managers bonus maxs at $525 (so unfair). The president constantly boast about how large the SM bonus is on conf calls, that the asm are on. Very unprofessional. The VP is a loud mouthed unprofessional women who does not even deserve the title of a store manager- if you interview, good luck even getting a word out with her.

Generous vacation pay for full time associates, somewhat competitive salary, potential internal growth if you play your cards right, unique items in store.

Cons

Disorganized, poor communication, lack of professionalism, mediocre employee discount, apparent favoritism and condescending emails if you are not on the favorite list. The VP is the epitome of unprofessional - uses scare tactics and threats to try to motivate sales. Company does not follow California law regarding meal violations, final pay being issued timely or paid breaks and is asking for a class action law suit

Leather handbags at designer prices.

Cons

You will be talked down to and ordered around in an unprofessional manner at least once a day. Not constructive, just criticism. You will have to listen to management diss your good customers to their face and then tell them to leave. In spite of "standing behind the product" claims, they will twist anyone and everyones arm over return/exchanges including associates. I spent thousands of dollars working there and own stock in the company but they will not do a tarnished jewelry exchange on something that is still full price in the store to this day, that was purchased during my employment and they still have the receipt in the back for. Of course when I bought it and was not sure about the quality they assured me that exchanges were not a problem on quality issues. I was recruited from a job I was happy with, and then run off from this company even though I was the number one seller for the duration of my employment and received two company acknowledgements for sales performance, in which nobody else had any. I contacted upper management upon the termination of my employment and then once again on the ethics hotline over my return, two months and no resolution. This company does not work for the customer. My manager was such a loose cannon that I was not even able to put in my two weeks notice. This company will mess up your references.
