Rewards of working with high school kids is wonderful! To watch them learn and grow is beautiful! You have a direct impact on the future of this country!!

Cons

The field is changing so much and the push is to allow the students to guide their own learning as teachers simply facilitate the process. That's NOT teaching! That's babysitting!!

District leaders and school stakeholders are very friendly and always willing to help.

Cons

HCS has had rapid growth with new communities and businesses, yet teacher pay remains uncompetitive compared to similar-sized Georgia counties. Despite recent raises, the starting salaries, especially for those with bachelor’s degrees, fall below the state average. The county still operates on an outdated once-a-month pay schedule and has procedures that are outdated.

Family like environment; Great professional development for Teachers

Cons

The pay is the absolute worst. I moved to Henry because of the environment and the schools but my family took a drastic decrease in income. It changed our lifestyle and almost felt like we were near poverty.
