Solid company, but you must marry your work.

Pros

Ridiculously good 401K contributions. Great career as a single person.

Cons

Couldn't imagine working here if I had a family. I work consistent 12-14 hour days. They promote authoritarian, pushy leaders that are hard to work for and motivate by fear.

We appreciate the time you took to provide a review. The hours do tend to be long in the construction industry across the board and life transitions such as going from single life to married with a family seem challenging at best. As with any career, learning to balance what is important takes time, but it is possible. Seeking input from others who are successful in this area or who are further along in their careers is also helpful. Not all managers are equally gifted and our leadership development program was created to help every leader in areas where they may need improvement. We encourage you to discuss how you want to be coached and use your PPE time to talk with your manager about the best way to motivate you.

Pros

Good knowledgeable employees. Great benefits.

Cons

1. Long hours. 2. Never feel like you can take the vacation that you have "earned". 3. Promotions based on tenure or if you just so happen to be in the right place at the right time. 4. Relocation with a week's notice. 5. Work life balance is preached but never practiced. 6. Communication from upper management is hit and miss. 7. Way to many process and procedures.
