Pros
Getting a free car, very flexible if business is slow I've been able to get out early sometimes. The people at Hertz are very good and are always available if you need help.
Cons
Company can be very incompetent at times which can lead to very frustrated employees. The new senior management has put way too much pressure on middle management to hit unrealistic sales goals, and grow the business despite branches having no staff to satisfy the business they already have. Making employees have to work at other locations that are a hour away from them because theres no is ridiculous and is why there is such low morale. They have now basically capped bonuses that is what a lot of branch managers depend on to make ends meet. When I first started at Hertz it was still a decent company now everybody is quitting including managers and they can't get anyone though the door because the pay is simply not enough and doesn't attract quality employees. The work life balance is terrible you can't even fully relax during the weekend because something may happen at the branch that you need to attend to. Extreme angry customers all the time because we don't have staff which leads to longer wait times and huge delays for customers looking for cars. My advice to anyone still working there is to work your way to manager then leave the first opportunity you get. If you can manage a hertz location you can manage anywhere
