Pros

-Decent benefits -New cars in fleet that you get to drive around frequently -Cannot think of many other positives except that it is a weekly paycheck

Cons

-Long 12 hour days -Cleaning dirty cars and ruining your best work clothes in the process -Bad area management with no connection to their lower level employees -Pushing insurance to the point where they are hostile towards you if you do not hit their numbers -Poor work environment; angry, upset customers, then angry hostile branch manager and area manager because you did not sell the 20/day insurance to angry customer -No job security and dirty sleezy sales tactics preached by area and branch managers -Really bad hourly pay with dwindling overtime opportunity in many HLE branches

Pros

Lots of potential employers know you can put of with a lot of adversity. Lots of local business people come in to rent cars and you can show off your potential to them...if they don't just view you as the car rental jockey...

Cons

Old Mangers vs New Managers...If you're incompetent enough that you don't leave the company for better opportunities you get promoted. People that have been in the company since before the recession are running branches. They are well versed in the "Hertz Way". They are also, in charge of people who have more experience, more intelligence and more capabilities than themselves. People out of MBA programs with 5-10 years experience and an energetic approach get shunned for trying to implement logical ideas. Hertz wants employees that: 1) Don't think for themselves 2) Are Narrow Minded 3) Willing to believe the word of their respective area managers as the gospel 4) Insubordinate themselves because independent thought is not only intolerable, but results in being reprimanded. Come be one of the Hertz Sheeple, if you have no self-esteem and are willing to listen to idiots that really don't know how to manage and just want to meet goals dictated by corporate...even if they are counterproductive to business.
