Hertz Employee Review: Pros and Cons of Working at the Company Pros: • Dedicated Frontline Team: The biggest highlight of working at Hertz is the frontline team members. Their dedication, teamwork, and camaraderie make coming to work worthwhile and help create a sense of community despite the challenges faced within the organization. • Customer Interaction: Engaging with customers and helping them with their rental needs can be rewarding, providing opportunities to build valuable customer service skills. Cons: • Lack of Communication: There is a significant disconnect between management and frontline employees. Important information is often not effectively communicated, leading to confusion, misaligned expectations, and operational inefficiencies. • Poor Accountability: The organization struggles with enforcing consistent accountability across all levels. Some employees are held to different standards than others, and issues are often left unaddressed, which impacts overall productivity and morale. • Arbitrary Treatment: Favoritism and inconsistency in how employees are treated create a sense of unfairness. Certain team members receive preferential treatment while others face stricter scrutiny, leading to a lack of trust and motivation. • Limited Growth Opportunities: Career advancement within Hertz feels stagnant, with few clear pathways for professional development. Internal promotions and growth opportunities are scarce, making it difficult for employees to see a long-term future with the company. • Inconsistent Pay Raises: Hourly pay increases appear to be arbitrary, with no clear structure or transparency in how they are awarded. This lack of consistency leaves employees feeling undervalued and uncertain about their financial growth within the company.

Pros

Fleet and Distro related positions are much more laid back and flexible compared to the rental operations side. Still very busy but less stressful on a daily basis. Full benefits, great perks at the Manager and Supervisor level

Cons

Individual and team based performance offers little financial incentives until you are a much higher level of management. Promotion opportunities are the key motivator, but often require relocation.
