Pros

If you enjoy poor security then this is the place for you!

Cons

I worked a lot of years at Hexion, saved and helped make them a lot of money through innovation, and long hours. 5 years ago this was a company that rewarded that, this company is now a shell of itself. Many good people were let go, and many more I've talked to are looking to leave. This company is bleeding. 70% of profits are going to paying the interest of the debt. The whole business is for sale. If you want insecurity about your future, a company that hasn't matched 401Ks or given decent raises in 3 years, and a company that is steadily losing its identity and values work here. Gone are the good old days of Borden/ Hexion

Pros

Pay is every two weeks - yeah!! Friendly coworkers, good benefits. The company looked to be a growing gem with exponential opportunity for business growth. You will be alright if you come in young and get indoctorinated into this business model.

Cons

1- Poor work-life balance 2- No CRM system - no historical data, no share of data, no bridge between inside sales/customer service & outside sales & supply chain 3- No Discussion of a business plan - just goals 4- Overworking of individuals in key positions below Directors (basically doing all the Directors work for them) 5- Management through bullying 6- No training, no training plans 7- meetings?? meetings to prepare for meetings, If there are any questions we can have another meeting? 8- Management is young & unproven. Less than 5 years ago they were either in customer service or on a lab bench in no experience type jobs. They now utilize the company as a piggy bank to go drinking, hunting, shooting, etc. They feel they are privileged and act aloof and arrogant.

Pros

- Flexible schedule - Managers that listen (some) - WFH opportunities (full/hybrid/dependent on role)

Cons

- Constant selling of divisions - piece and parceling out - outsourcing to overseas 3rd party companies for major processes results in lack of stability for long-term, loyal employees - No flexibility for many medical related concerns for employees - Lack of growth from constant outsourcing as well :(
