Pros

Autonomy: they really let me, as a senior employee, do my own thing. The money was fantastic for a period of time, with great benefits, 401K, profit sharing and bonuses. I earned three trips for my spouse and I during my tenure there.

Cons

Hibu's main product is Yellow Book, which really began dying in 2007-8. Prior to that, when I was asked, I always said that Yellow Book would be the casl company that I would work for. Towards the last few years of my employment, they were introducing new products all the time to try to get revenue moving in the right direction. Demands were made of all the reps that were completely unrealistic... and short-sighted. See xx number of websites this wee, sell magazine ads another week, etc...

Pros

Work from home. You can essentially set your daily start time as long as you make face-to-face sales visits and follow-up phone calls. Decent commission and bonus pay. Hibu gives outside sales reps an honest opportunity to prove themselves. Great team members. Existing client base with add-on sale potential.

Cons

This is a face-to-face prospecting/cold calling position. If you have any fears or negative feelings about walking into a business unannounced and pitching them on digital marketing? Do yourself a favor don't take a sales position with this company. Two weeks of training in King-of-Prussia, PA. Training is purposely intense and stressful to weed out those they perceive as unable to handle their sales approach. Be ready for a grueling process. Hibu is placing a lot of pressure on reps with new sales. If you take a position with this company, they expect a fast pace and many visits. The future in digital advertising is dicey to say the least. I believe this is a shrinking market as it is becoming easier for businesses to do it yourself digital advertising. More and more micromanaging.

Pros

Fun work environment. Good pay, benefits, and perks if you find your own way and don't listen to management. Compensation was great for me because I did what I wanted and did not listen to management. They even sent me on a paid vacation for my efforts.

Cons

Favored employees get away with long stretches of no sales. They mute their phones and pretend to dial customers just to get their call counts up. Management is aware and does nothing. Poor lead generation and management does not allow their reps to use sales techniques that work for them. They force a ridiculous sales technique on you and make you throw away anything that makes you successful. This company will set you up big to make you fail if you let them. I'd give the company no stars in some areas if I could.
