Pros
The benefits are really good, even dental. It is more recession-proof than some industries. You do get recognized for meeting your goals. The training is actually really good, and they send you for 3 weeks of training and pay for all travel expenses, which is really cool. They teach general selling skills as well as specifics about the industry. You generally have the freedom to call your own day. They screen well during the hiring process, and the co-workers are nice and easy to work with.
Cons
You work 70+ hours a week to get the job done, and then the managers tell you that you still aren't doing enough. You have no free time during the day to think about anything but your next step with Yellowbook. They don't give their employees enough time to learn new tools, such as when they converted to doing everything on tablets and yet gave no break on the quotas during the learning curve. The managers talk a lot about having a balanced life, and yet no one has one. You get a lot of urgent emails sent to the sales team pounding them into more activity, and then your managers tell you that you should just ignore the emails if you decide they don't apply to you. You work during holidays at the sacrifice of your family time. Your managers tell you to schedule 10-15 appointments a week, and to do it the week before, and then they change your schedule all up at the last minute to accommodate mandatory meetings they've thrown into the mix. They treat you like children by demanding that you come into the office to make phone calls to your clients or prospective clients, so they can keep their eye on you to make sure you are doing the work.
