Beware of the "Bubble" Mindset

Pros

Free promo gifts. Decent holiday bonuses.

Cons

Very often staff is encouraged to fall into the collective mindset of higher-ups, blocking out any suggestions for change or improvement as it pertains to involvement with the community. University doesn't seem to care about the city around it. When they do get involved, they're really only seeking the positive publicity rather than actually caring about they are assisting.

Pros

Beautiful Campus, Christmas bonus and swag

Cons

This has been the worst place I have ever worked. Management is awful, very self-centered and will throw anyone under the bus to make them look better. They do not care about training, growth, or actually making improvements to the system. I could say much more and this is not just a problem in my area but seems to be an issue in other departments as well.
