Pros

Authentic: committed people working towards a common goal Culture: remote environment with excellent cultural leaders, and regular F2F events for team building. The best of both worlds. Meaningful work: we are building something remarkable, that positively impacts the communities we live in. Empowered effort: people are empowered to make the best decisions for our business and bring their experience to life. I'm proud to be part of this team. Development: massive upside opportunities for professional growth and development.

Cons

What we are doing is hard. But it is also rewarding. Building something new, in a complex environment, requires effort. This team is committed to building a better world, and making this company successful. That means we put in the hours. Don't join if you are looking for the easy button. PS it's worth it!

People working in the mid and lower ranks are excellent to work with and very supportive. The market and the product are engaging. The business has interesting problems to solve. The potential for the business is very high.

Cons

Poor behavior of leadership, inexperienced senior leaders, unsavory management practices, unhappy customers, and low product-market fit

Higharc Response

The issues raised in this review would be seriously concerning if they were true. This employee was let go for cause after just 3 months. We’re proud of the transparency, respect, and strength across the board on our team. Our company reviews and regular anonymous surveys consistently rank our culture, the strength of the team, and the work as top tier. Sometimes we get it wrong when we hire, as we did in this case. - Higharc People Team

Pros

- The Culture: a truly remote company that facilitates open and authentic relationships. My best work is getting done at Higharc and culture is the arena that create the space for that to happen. - The Product: we don't have a single competitor. We are all in, this is a winner-takes-all market. It's truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to support a product this dangerous. - Our Customers: we get to work with some of the most innovative thinkers in home building. Our customers are helping people get into homes. They're heroes and we get to arm them with game changing technology and services. It's energizing! - The Leadership: amazing, tried and true leaders. I have a license to create impact at Higharc, but what's better is the guidance I receive. The executive leadership team is comprised of some of the brightest and greatest humans in tech. - The People: everyone says it, few can back it up. The best talent ends up at Higharc - and they're all people you love to be around. A-players every turn you look.

Cons

- Initiative Fatigue: there's so much going on. There are so many opportunities to create and iterate. There's always a TON going on, which can diminish focus at times. Startup stuff. - Good is Often the Enemy: the company isn't perfectionist in nature but the pursuit of excellence is a virtue practiced by many, including myself. We don't often give ourselves the credit we deserve. Good is still good, we need to be more real about that in the pursuit of greatness. - So Much Slack: my Slack is blown up with a dozen messages on what feels like a regular hourly basis. Remote work is worth it, but it's definitely an adjustment. It can be...intense. - Checking in With Yourself: I, like my colleagues, probably don't practice as much self care as we should. People pour their hearts, souls and every fiber of their being into Higharc. It's easy to be out of touch with yourself while getting immersed (deeply) in the work. The company promotes self care, but it's easy to ignore.
