      The people and employee benefits are fantastic

      Tough to transfer into departments without experience. Sales, events, marketing are all elusive.

      Pros

      Reduced rate for hotel stays; free meal during shift. If you are with the union the cost for the health insurance will be only the union dues. When there are big events at the hotel, the atmosphere can be fun.

      Cons

      If you are at a hotel that has both union and non-union membership, be prepared for the hostility that will be on-going between the two camps. Management is bottom-line driven and really doesn't care about high employee turnover. Staff is disgruntled and it shows. The better people tend to leave, so the quality of employees tends to be on the low side. The few good ones who stay are usually overworked.

      -great benefits 401k included and pay -If you are eager to move up, you will be given that opportunity! -I really feel like the hotel cares about me as an individual -great HR dept -free meal daily

      -upper management not always reprimanded for wrongdoings -parking
